Diabetes is a group of conditions, not a single disease, which is characterised by chronically elevated blood/plasma glucose concentrations. It is due to an absolute or relative lack of insulin and has many causes. This course is designed to familiarise carers with diabetes, giving an insight into whom it can affect, as well as what treatments are available and give an indication of how diabetes can be managed.
